In Quy Nhon city, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province held a seminar to introduce the potential of aquaculture and high-tech shrimp farming in Binh Dinh with the chairmanship of vice minister (MARD) Tran Thanh Nam and Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Tran Chau and the Director of Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Phan Trong Ho.
Binh Dinh has over 134km of coastline with 3 lagoons and a system of bays, seaports and natural creeks with many rare species. In recent years, Binh Dinh has exploited the potential and advantages of sustainable development of aquaculture. Outstanding is the development of fishing boats to exploit offshore fishing, in 2017 exploited aquatic products reached 223,000 tons and put into use 2,231ha of water surface for aquaculture, output reached 10,750 tons.
Binh Dinh has also implemented the policies to support the development of aquacultural products of the Government, creating favorable conditions for fishermen to build and improve fishing vessels; upgrading the infrastructure of fishing ports, fishing wharves and storm shelters; develop fishery logistic services, aquaculture. As a result, many businesses have invested in the fishery sector, initially effective. Currently, Binh Dinh is promoting investment promotion, calling for enterprises to invest in upgrading the infrastructure of anchorage areas to avoid storm Tam Quan Bac; set up the international tuna auction center in Quy Nhon; to invest in fishery logistic services; to invest in the construction of processing plants, frozen, canned tuna and other aquatic products.
At the seminar, besides sharing experience on investment projects to develop shrimp farming with high technology, experience in investment in building intelligent agriculture with 4.0 technology, Rynan Hoilding JSC would like Binh Dinh to create favorable conditions for businesses to invest in the aquaculture sector in the direction of sustainability.
Asserting the objectives and importance of sustainable aquauculture investment, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam highly appreciated the theme of the workshop closely with the guidelines and directions of the Government and Ministry of Agriculture. At the same time, they pledged to support Binh Dinh province to carry out projects related to aquaculture.
